WAVE ROCK
A perfect wave made of stone!

Wave Rock is an amazing natural rock formation standing 15 metres high and looking like a giant wave just about to break. It is more than 100 metres long. Nearby is Bates Cave which has aboriginal hand paintings on the walls. There are hundreds of other granite outcrops dominating the landscape around the region and a few other interesting features to look for within the Wave Rock Reserve are the Breakers, Hippo's Yawn, King Rocks and the Humps.

The town of Hyden 4 km away caters for tourists with a Tourist Information centre in the Wave Rock Wildfower Shop. You can also visit a Pioneer Town which recreates the era of the 1920s and a small wildlife park. The area around Wave Rock itself has a car park which includes coach parking, picnic facilities, public toilets and shaded areas. There is a small fee per car to enter the reserve.
