WALPOLE
Stunning coastal scenery…

The pretty town of Walpole lies on the south coast in a region of dramatic forests and coastal landscapes. It is surrounded by the beautiful Walpole-Nornalup National Park. The main attraction for tourists is the scenic beauty of the area, starting with the beaches. Some of the main ones for fishing and beach walks are Conspicuous Beach, Peaceful Bay and Mandalay Beach. Take a cruise around Walpole and Nornalup Inlets or go canoeing on the river. There is a 3 km walking trail from the Pioneer Cottage Museum in Pioneer Park to Coalmine Beach on Nornalup Inlet.

The Valley of the Giants is an area in the national park with stands of the giant rare red tingle trees. There is an information centre there, walking trails to follow and the special experience of a tree top walk. Follow some of the lovely scenic drives through the area such as the Knoll Drive, Hilltop Lookout Road and Mount Frankland on the North Walpole Road. Bushwalkers will enjoy the trails through the Nuyts Wilderness Block. All levels of accommodation are offered in the area from resorts to farmstays to backpackers.
