PINNACLES DESERT
Facinating rock formations…

The unique Pinnacles Desert is a favourite attraction for tourists travelling the west coast of WA. There are thousands of limestone pillars, from very tiny to 5 metres high, formed by wind and rain over thousands of years. The pinnacles are situated only four km inland from the coast and make for a great photo opportunity. There is a one way road system through the park but you can walk around and inspect the pillars. Nambung National Park is a refuge for kangaroos and emus and in spring is a profusion of wildflowers.

Tours to the Pinnacles are offered at sunrise, sunset or by the full moon, for an exceptional experience. The nearest town is Cervantes which is a quiet fishing village with a rock lobster processing plant. It has pristine beaches for swimming, snorkelling, and fishing. Divers can explore the reefs and shipwrecks offshore. Visitors to the Pinnacles can stay at Cervantes in a variety of accommodation from backpacker hostels, caravan parks and cottages to beachfront motels and chalets.
