MONKEY MIA
Get up close with dolphins…

The small town of Monkey Mia has become famous as the place to meet wild dolphins. The friendly bottlenose dolphins come in to the shore every day to interact with visitors. There are rangers on hand to supervise the feeding of the dolphins, to provide information and to control the large crowds of tourists. About seven dolphins visit regularly and up to 20 others visit occasionally. Another way to view the dolphins is to take a cruise from Shark Bay.

The Dolphin Information Centre shows educational videos on the dolphins and sell souvenirs and postcards. While in the area, take a trip to Hamelin Pool to see the Stromatolites - unusual formations at the water's edge formed by cyanbacteria and known as 'living fossils'. The Monkey Mia resort offers a variety of accommodation types to suit every budget.
