KALBARRI
See Western Australia's wild flowers...

Kalbarri is a popular place for a coastal holiday and it has the most prolific region for wildflowers in the state. The estuary has calm waters for swimming, water skiing, canoeing and fishing and there is daily pelican feeding on the foreshore. Touring services on offer include fishing charters, whale and dolphin spotting cruises, canoe treks and scenic flights. You can book a coach tour of the river gorges, coastal gorges and wildflowers.

Visit Rainbow Jungle to see the birds and also check out Black Rock Cafe & Museum. Hire a bike and follow the cycle path along the coastal clifftops. Go horse riding, abseiling or camel trekking. Kalbarri National Park becomes a carpet of wildflowers between August and October. The park has beautiful gorges along the Murchison River, walking trails, sandstone cliffs and dramatic coastal scenery. Accommodation choices include holiday units, villas, lodges, motels, farmstays, backpacker hostel, caravan parks and camping grounds.
