Perth's major sea port…

The historic city of Fremantle is Perth's port city. You can learn about the history of the city by visiting some of the museums such as the Western Australian Maritime Museum, Sails of the Century Museum, Fremantle Museum and Art Gallery, Fremantle Prison Museum and Samson House Museum. Take a stroll around the city and look for the many heritage-listed buildings which are now used as art galleries, shops, offices and museums. You can also try a tram trip or a horse and cart ride around the streets.

The historic Fremantle Markets are open every Friday to Sunday and have a great atmosphere. Port Beach, Leighton Beach and South Beach are great for swimming and surfing. The Port Authority Building offers tours to the top of the building and its viewing platform from which there are superb views over the city.
