DERBY
A gateway to the Kimberley region…

Derby is a friendly outback town and is a good base for exploring the Kimberley region. South of the town are the interesting attractions of the ancient Boab Prison Tree and Myall's Bore which stretches for 120 metres. Follow the Pigeon Heritage Trail around town to learn about some of the history of the town. Visit Wharfinger's House Museum, Old Derby Gaol or the Derby Pioneer Cemetery. The Horizontal Waterfalls are a facinating horizontal 'two-way' waterfall at Talbot Bay in the Buccaneer Archipelago.

To see some examples of Aboriginal art, visit the Mowanjum Art Gallery. The Botanical Gardens are a lovely place for a stroll, as is the Joonjoo Botanical Trail. Book a crabbing trip, sea safari or trip to Cockatoo Island, departing from the Derby jetty. You can also book outback adventure tours of the Kimberley departing from Derby. There is camping at Windjana Gorge National Park, or stay in a motel, guesthouse, hotel, lodge or caravan park.
