To the north of Carnarvon are some superb coastal features such as blowholes, craggy cliffs, sand dunes, white sandy beaches and Lake Macleod, a coastal salt lake. At Cape Cuvier you can take a tour of the Dampier Salt Works.

Visit the Tourist Bureau Museum to see exhibits from the NASA base, as well as the Lighthouse Cottage Museum. The One Mile Jetty has an Ocean Tramway to take you out to the end of the jetty. See the Shearing Hall of Fame at the Gascoyne Pastoral and Shearing Museum. To experience the local wildlife, go to the Carnarvon Tropical Bird Park.
