AVON VALLEY

The Avon Valley is a beautiful region famous for its spring wildflowers. Start your tour of the valley at the town of Beverley and visit the Aeronautical Museum to see an interesting biplane. Travel north to the town of York and stroll around the historic buildings, visit the woodwork galleries, the Motor Museum and the arts and craft shops. You can also visit the tourist attraction of Balladong Farm which is a working farm using traditional methods and skills.

The town of Northam is on the Avon River which is home to some unique white swans. There is a suspension bridge across the Avon, which is the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Australia. Tourists will enjoy visiting the arts and craft shops. Other towns to explore are Toodyay, Brookton, Bakers Hill, Chittering, Goomalling, New Norcia and Wundowie. The Avon Valley National Park has campsites or try a farmstay, country retreat, motel or caravan park.
