Take a day trip to explore the historic port of Williamstown. Have a swim at Williamstown beach or take a ferry ride from Gem Pier. Try the cafes and restaurants at Nelson Place and enjoy the seaside atmosphere. There are also a number of galleries at Nelson Place, including Customs Wharf Gallery and The Haven Gallery. The Railway Museum and the Williamstown Maritime Museum are open on weekends and the Historical Museum on Sundays. Children and adults alike will enjoy a trip to the interactive Science Works and Planetarium.

The Jawbone Wetland area near Williamstown has a boardwalk, birdhides and a lake system. The Williamstown Botanic Gardens are a lovely area for a stroll and a picnic. Stay in one of the local bed and breakfasts with a sea view, or choose an apartment or hotel.
