WARRNAMBOOL
An industrial city on the coast…

Warrnambool is an industrial city on the coast, promoting its tourism industry as well as its manufacturing industries. It is situated between the Hopkins and Merri rivers, where fishing is a popular sport. The best places for surfing are at Levy's Bay, Logans Beach and Second Bay. Lady Bay Beach is suitable for safe family swimming. There is a whale viewing platform at Logans Beach and between June and October each year you can see the southern right whales giving birth just off the coast.

Some attractions to seek out are the Cudgee Creek Wildlife Park, Tower Hill State Game Reserve, Hopkins Falls, Cottage Rose Display Garden, Sherbourne Rose Maze, Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village or Lake Pertobe Adventure Playground. Take the heritage walk around the town or try part of the Mahogany Walking Track - a 22 km trail from Warrnambool to Port Fairy. Book your accommodation in a holiday village, motel, backpacker hostel or apartment.
