Wine & fine art! A great combination…

The city of Wangaratta is at the centre of a major wine-producing area. A good time to visit is when the Wangaratta Festival of Jazz and Blues is being held. The annual springtime event spreads over the local hotels, concert venues and wineries and is always a huge success. Air World is an important attraction, featuring many vintage aircraft and joy flights. Air World hosts the the bi-annual Monaro gathering. Also visit the Wangaratta Museum and the Exhibitions Gallery for fine art and photography.

Take a drive to Warby Range State Park, 10 km to the west, to see waterfalls, wildflowers, native wildlife and walking tracks. The nearby township of Glenrowan celebrates the life of the notorious Ned Kelly, the main tourist attraction being Kellyland. There is also the Ned Kelly Memorial Museum and Glenrowan Cobb & Co Souvenir Gift Shop and Museum. At Wangaratta you can choose your accommodation from the local hotels, motels or caravan parks.
