Enjoy the longest beach in the world when you holiday at Ninety Mile Beach. There are three main lakes, Lake King, Lake Victoria and Lake Wellington, which are separated from the ocean by long sandy dunes. Ninety Mile Beach is part of the Lakes National Park, and you can camp in the park at Emu Bight. Stay in the townships of Woodside Beach, Seaspray, Golden Beach or Loch Sport and have a wonderful beach holiday enjoying beach walks, swimming, fishing and boating on the lakes. Whales and dolphins can be spotted from the shore.
The region is a haven for fishing enthusiasts who enjoy surf-casting for Australian salmon, mullet, flathead and gummy sharks. The Gippsland Lakes and their feeder streams are great for catching black bream. There is a shipwreck, the Trinculo, near the shore, 6.4 km from the roundabout at Golden Beach going towards Seaspray. It is best seen after a king tide when large amounts of sand have been removed. The holiday townships along the beach offer accommodation in well-equipped caravan parks, motels, holiday apartments, cabins and beach retreats.
Location
Ninety Mile Beach is in the Gippsland region, stretching from Seaspray to Lakes Entrance.
