MOUNT ARAPILES
The place for rockclimbing!

Mount Arapiles, known as Victoria's 'Ayers Rock' is a rock climbers paradise. There are around 2000 climbs covering all levels, and serious climbers love to make the pilgrimage to the rock to take on the challenge of the climbs. Most climbers camp at the base of the rock at Centenary Park or at Natimuk, 8 km away. The township of Natimuk has accommodation in hostels and lodges and you will also find rock climbing guides for novices.

There are plenty of walking trails around Mount Arapiles-Tooan State Park, the best of which is the hike to the top of Mt Arapiles. You can also drive to the top. Photographers and artists will love the subject matter of the rock at sunrise or sunset, complete with climbers, or the scenic views from the cliff tops when the canola plants have their yellow flowers, creating a beautiful patchwork effect. Horsham is 20 km away for those looking for more civilised accommodation or other services such as internet cafes. A regular bus runs to Mt Arapiles.
