Victoria's largest fishing port…


The town of Lakes Entrance is at the gateway to the Gippsland Lakes and has the biggest fishing port in Victoria. You can book a river cruise or hire a boat to explore the lakes and try your hand at fishing. There are many scenic walking trails in the area and the Information Centre has a leaflet on them. Ninety Mile Beach is part of the Lakes National Park and has long sandy dunes and three lakes - Lake King, Lake Victoria and Lake Wellington. There is bush camping in the park at Emu Bight.

Some attractions at Lakes Entrance include Griffiths' Sea Shell Museum, Kinkuna Country Fun and Fauna Park, Wyanga Park Vineyards and Winery, Nyerimilang Homestead and Nyerimilang Park. The Malcolm Cameron Studio Gallery has demonstrations by the artist. Along the promenade you will see wooden sculptures of Australians at war. Nearby Rotamah Island has a large bird observatory. Lakes Entrance has a plentiful supply of holiday apartments, motels, cottages and caravan parks.
