The Grampians National Park and the town of Halls Gap are one of Victoria's major tourist areas. It is a beautiful area for scenic drives and walking tracks or serious bushwalking, rock climbing and abseiling. There is an abundance of bird species, native animals and indigenous plant species. The park is renowned for its wildflowers. Nightwalks and spotlight tours are popular to see the nocturnal animals. You can see aboriginal rock art at Billimina Shelter, Gulgurri Manja Shelter, Manja Shelter and Ngamadjidi Shelter. Halls Gap Park and Zoo has native animals and farm animals.
Visit the Grampians National Park Visitor Centre in Halls Gap for information on camp sites and walking tracks as there are over 90 walks to choose from. Also visit the Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural Centre next door. Many tours are on offer in the region including hot-air balloon, canoeing, 4WD, camel, horseriding and horse-drawn vehicle tours as well as fishing and abseiling tours. Couples will enjoy a romantic weekend in the mountains at one of the resorts or retreats. Others may choose a guesthouse, motel, holiday apartment, caravan park or camping.
