Victoria's second largest city…


Geelong is Victoria's second largest city and is historically significant for its buildings, including the National Wool Museum, City Hall, Merchiston Hall, Barwon Grange and Corio Villa. The Old Geelong Gaol is now a tourist attraction and the Geelong Art Gallery is worth a visit to see the many historical works as well as contemporary art. The Ford Discovery Centre leads you through the history of Ford motor cars and has crash test dummy demonstrations, production robots and more. Geelong Botanical Gardens are interesting and have free guided tours.

Visit Geelong's foreshore on pretty Corio Bay, in particular Eastern Beach with its bathing pavilions. Narana Creations is a gallery of Aboriginal arts and crafts which also has cultural demonstrations. Other places to visit are Gabbinbar Animal and Wildlife Park, Shearers Arms Gallery, Barrabool Hills Maze and Gardens and Serendip Sanctuary. The Geelong Hinterland region has National Parks, scenic lookouts, walking tracks and waterfalls. Geelong has many hotels and motels to choose from, as well as holiday apartments, cottages and caravan parks.
