Ride a paddlesteamer on the murray river...

The inland river port of Echuca has had a tourism revival, with paddlesteamers taking tourists for trips along the Murray River. The town maintains its historic atmosphere with horse-and-carriage rides, a traditional a woodturner and blacksmith and the Wharf Museum Tour, which historic buildings and the port area. You can hire boats, canoes or houseboats to enjoy the river in your own way. Some other attractions are Sharp's Magic Movie House and Penny Arcade, Echuca Farm Yard, the National Holden Motor Museum, the Murray River Aquarium, World In Wax and Echuca Wharf Pottery.

Visit the Golden Cow Tourist and Dairy Educational Centre at Tongala and ride the miniature train at Gumnutland. Several wineries are open to the public for wine tasting and sales. Oz Maze is a challenge for the children, or they might like to try horseriding. Take a drive to the very pretty Torrumbarry Weir for fishing, camping and picnics. There are a good number of hotels and motels in Echuca, as well as caravan parks, holiday units and houseboats for hire.
