There is much to see and do when you holiday in the Dandenong Ranges. The most famous attraction is the Puffing Billy Railway which will take you on a memorable journey through the Dandenongs starting at Belgrave and stopping along the way at the Steam Museum. William Ricketts Sanctuary is a beautiful place to visit, featuring clay sculptures of Aboriginal figures nestled amongst the gardens. Other gardens to visit include Alfred Nicholas Memorial Gardens, National Rhododendron Gardens, George Tindale Gardens Pirianda Garden, Mount Dandenong Arboretum and RJ Hamer Arboretum.

The Ferntree Gully National Park has some great walking trails, as does the Dandenong Ranges National Park. Take a drive through the many quaint country villages in the area and discover some great wineries, galleries, country pubs, tea rooms and specialty shops. Another place to visit is Mt Dandenong Observatory. Couples can enjoy a romantic getaway in one of the luxury cottages, bed and breakfasts, hotel or motel suite.
