BRIGHT
An amazing place to be in Autumn...

The pretty town of Bright is known for its stunning autumn colours, due to the proliferation of deciduous trees in the town and surrounding area. It is only a short drive from the snowfields of Falls Creek, Mount Hotham and Mount Buffalo and offers good quality off-the-mountain accommodation to skiers. Apart from the skiing, other activities for holidaymakers include horse riding, hang gliding, abseiling, bushwalking, panning for gold, golf, swimming and canoeing. The Ovens River is popular for fishing, or you can try Stony Creek Trout Farm. Cyclists like to explore the area on the many bicycle paths.

Visit the Bright & District Historical Museum to learn about the gold rush days. Drive to Clearspot Lookout for some magnificent views, or take a scenic flight over the area. The town hosts the Autumn Festival in conjunction with the Bright Art Exhibition which attracts entries from around the country. There is also a Winter Wonderland Festival and an Alpine Spring Festival. Accommodation is offered in the many local hotels, motels, chalets, guesthouses, apartments, lodges and caravan parks.
