SWANSEA
A peaceful beachside destination

The historic town of Swansea is a lovely destination for a quiet family beach holiday. It overlooks Oyster Bay and has some great beaches for swimming, surfing, beach walks and fishing. The Swansea Bark Mill and East Coast Museum next door will inform you of the early days of European settlement. Spiky Bridge is 7.5 km south of Swansea and is an interesting feature built by convict labour.

Stroll around the town and inspect the historic buildings including Morris' General Store, the Council Chambers, Meredith House, All Saints Church, Schouten House and Resthaven. Take a drive out to the local vineyards and sample the local wines. In summer you can take a walk to the shearwater breeding grounds and see the birds at dusk returning to their burrows. Book your holiday accommodation in a resort or unit with sea views, a guesthouse, cottage or caravan park.
