RICHMOND
A pretty and historic township...

Richmond is a pretty historic township full of galleries and craft shops. It has the oldest bridge in Australia, the Richmond Bridge. There are many Georgian cottages and historic buildings to admire such as the Court House, Ivy Cottage, Congregational Church, the Village Store, Richmond Arms Hotel and St Johns Church. Richmond Gaol is now a museum open to the public. The surrounding valley is a wine producing area with a number of boutique wineries.

Day trippers now flock to this picturesque town to browse through the many gift shops, craft shops, galleries and eateries housed in renovated old buildings. You can stay in historic accommodation such as Prospect House, Laurel Cottage or the Old Dispensary - buildings from the 1830s. Otherwise, there is a caravan park or bed and breakfasts, modern cottages and apartments.
