For beachside holidays…

Bicheno is a great location for a seaside holiday. There are some lovely beaches and a 3 km foreshore walk to the Blowhole and Rocking Rock. Drive up to Freycinet Lookout and Whalers Lookout for the spectacular views. Fishing is an important activity in Bicheno for professionals and amateurs. Go down to the harbour to watch the trawlers come in and buy some fresh seafood. Visit the Sea Life Centre to see huge glass tanks of sea creatures and take a sunset tour to the fairy penguins as they arrive back at their nests.

East Coast Birdlife and Animal Park features native animals and birds. Diamond Island Nature Reserve can be reached from the mainland at low tide and has large numbers of fairy penguin burrows.
