Australia uses a decimal currency system of dollars and cents. Credit cards are accepted virtually everywhere and Traveller’s Cheques are also widely accepted. Bank hours are Monday to Thursday from 9.30am - 4.00pm, Fridays from 9.00am to 5.00pm. Some banks are open Saturdays. Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) are situated throughout the city, offering 24-hour banking. Most Australian banks also offer internet banking services so you can do your banking online.
