TANUNDA
In the heart of Barossa Valley

Tanunda is at the heart of the wine producing region of the Barossa Valley. The early settlers in the area were of German origin and their legacy is still evident in the impressive Lutheran churches and other historic buildings. The Post Office Museum has information on the history of the local community. There are several cooperages in the town which are open to the public and allow you to observe the process of making wine casks and kegs. The nearby Kaiser Stuhl Conservation Park is a beautiful place for bird watching.

There are many wineries to visit including the famous Chateau Tanunda. Others offering tastings and sales include Basedow Wines, Stanley Brothers Winery, Richmond Grove, Peter Lehmann Wines, Old Barn Wines, Langmeil Winery, Chateau Dorrien and Glaetzer Wines. Try a country guesthouse, retreat or resort for your accommodation or stay in a motel, hotel, bed and breakfast, cottage or caravan park.
