Take a tour of the limestone caves…

The major tourist attraction in the Naracoorte region is the Naracoorte Caves Conservation Park, 10 km south of the town. Four of the limestone caves are open for guided tours and there is one self-guiding cave. The nearby Wonambi Fossil Centre has robotic displays of fossils types found in the caves. The park also has a cafe, walking trails, picnicking and camping facilities. The Sheep's Back Wool Museum and Tourist Office has interesting displays on the local wool industry. The private facility, Museum and Snake Pit, has a large reptile collection, butterfly collection, fossils and more.

Naracoorte Cultural Arts Centre has an impressive gallery, including an Aboriginal art collection. Bool Lagoon, 23 km south of Naracoorte, is an important and beautiful wetland area which is well worth visiting. There are boardwalks, trails and lookouts to enable birdwatchers to view sharp-tailed sandpipers, brolgas, mallards, Cape Barren geese, freckled duck, pied goose and ibis. Koppamurra, south of Naracoorte has a developing wine industry. Try a farm stay, cottage or cabin, or a motel, hotel or caravan park.
