MCLAREN VALE

McLaren Vale is an historic town at the centre of a region of vineyards and wine production. It is a popular area with tourists who enjoy doing the rounds of the wineries, sampling and buying the local wines. There are about 50 wineries to choose from, one of the most famous being Hardy's Tintara Winery. Luong Rice Winery specialises in Chinese rice wine. Other wineries in the town are Tatachilla Winery, Maxwell Wines and Dennis of McLaren Vale.

The nearby town of Willunga is famous for its almonds and holds an Almond Blossom Festival. Other festivals in McLaren Vale are the Sea and Vines Festival and the McLaren Vale Wine Bushing Festival. The Mt. Magnificent Conservation Park has some lovely walking trails for bushwalkers to enjoy. There is a caravan park in the town or book a bed and breakfast, cottage or motel.
