INNES NP
Quiet secluded beaches…

The Innes National Park is a beautiful place for a quiet holiday enjoying secluded beaches and picturesque coastal scenery. There is an entry fee to the park and camping is permitted at designated sites. The settlement of Pondalowie Bay is known for its lobster fishing industry. There is a good beach for swimming and surfing, a camping ground, sales outlet and visitor centre. Stenhouse Bay is the other settlement just outside the park and it has a general store for supplies. Browns Beach is suitable for swimming but many others are too dangerous. Surf fishing is a very popular activity and divers like the clear blue waters.

Visit the Inneston Historic Site to see the ruins of an old mining community and you can also see the ruins of a ship which ran aground in 1904. Other activities to pursue are bird watching, looking for wildflowers, photography and beach walks. Accommodation offered around the park area is only basic cabins or camping. Otherwise you will have to stay farther afield.

Locations
