Whitsunday Islands

The island group of the Whitsundays is made up of 74 different islands - a great holiday destination for families and couples. The most significant islands are Daydream Island, Hamilton Island, Hayman Island, Hook Island, Lindeman Island, Long Island, and South Molle, all of which have resorts. Camping is permitted on many of the other islands if a permit is obtained. There are also many day cruises to the islands from the mainland. Hamilton island has its own airport and offers adventurous activities such as helicopter rides, scuba diving and parasailing. Daydream is a tiny, pretty island with many activities for the daytripper or resort guest.

Hayman Island has an exclusive resort, walking trails, snorkelling and scuba diving. South Molle Island has a number of prominent hills for excellent views. Lindeman Island has a Club Med resort and Hook Island has the Hook Island Wilderness Resort. Long Island has three resorts. It is possible to charter a yacht and have a holiday on board, sailing from one island to another. Accommodation choices range from pampered luxury to cabins and camping sites.

Location
The Whitsunday Island group are off the coast from Airlie Beach.
