Townsville is a major tropical city with many attractions for visitors. There is the Museum of Tropical Queensland, the Townsville Museum, Maritime Museum, North Queensland Military Museum, and the Perc Tucker Art Gallery. Take a stroll around the city centre to admire the historical buildings and visit the Botanical Gardens. Take some diving lessons at a dive school before heading out to the reef. Cotter's Market is held on Sunday mornings at the Flinders Street Mall. Walk or drive to the top of Castle Hill for fantastic views. Townsville has a casino, theatres, restaurants and quality shopping centres. There are international hotels, motels, resorts, holiday apartments and caravan parks.
