Mount Isa is a world producer of copper, silver, lead and zinc and as such, mining is the main focus of the city. It is possible to take an underground tour of the mines or alternatively a surface tour. Visit the Frank Aston Underground Museum, the John Middlen Museum or the National Trust Tent Museum. There is a City Lookout and a number of lakes for birdwatching and picnicking, such as Lake Moondara. Take a trip to Camooweal Caves and Lawn Hill National Parks.
