Maryborough is situated beside the Mary River and has a rich industrial history. Take a tour of the city's majestic historical buildings such as Brennan & Geraghty's Store, the Royal Hotel, St Paul's Anglican Church and Tower, City Hall, Maryborough Post Office, HM Customs House and the Courthouse. The Bond Store Museum is a fine heritage museum. Visit the lovely Queens Park with its elegant band rotunda, Pioneer Country Park, Elizabeth Park or Ululah Lagoon - all relaxing picnic sites.

Gatakers Lane Craft Centre and Old Warehouse Gallery will be enjoyed by those who love arts and crafts and Barambah Ridge Vineyard is open to the public for wine tasting. The Heritage Markets are held in Maryborough every Thursday. Fishing is a popular activity in the Mary River and a couple of fishing contests are held each year. Visit the Central Business District for some good restaurants and cafes. Hotels and motels are plentiful in Maryborough as well as caravan parks.
