Cape Hillsborough National Park is a beautiful coastal park popular with bird watchers, bushwalkers and nature lovers. The wildlife you might encounter includes kangaroos, sugar gliders, brush turkeys and turtles. There is a mangrove boardwalk and an Aboriginal trail. You can walk out to Wedge Island from the Andrews Point walking trail, but only at the fall of low tide. Other trails have lookouts for amazing scenic views.

The park has 150 species of birdlife and tropical butterflies in the forests of eucalyptus and hoop pines. Other activities include fishing, boating, swimming and canoeing. Cape Hillsborough Resort is located at Cape Hillsborough beach and offers tent and caravan sites. A permit is required from the ranger if you wish to camp at Smalley's Beach.
