The Atherton Tablelands is a beautiful area with many natural attractions - lakes, waterfalls and tropical rainforest. In the Palmerston National Park you can see Ellinjaa Falls, Millaa Millaa Falls, Mungalli Falls and Zillie Falls. Visit the town of Ravenshoe to see Little Millstream Falls and the Millstream Falls as well as a historic steam train called Millstream Express. Drive to Mt Garnet where the fantastic Undara Lava Tubes are situated. Herberton has a Historical Village and hosts an annual Tin Festival.

Atherton is the major centre of the Tablelands. Here you can visit Halloran's Hill Environmental Park, The Old Post Office Gallery, The Chinese Temple to the Emperor Ho Wong and Crystal Caves, a geological museum. Lake Barrine, Lake Eacham and Lake Tinaroo are beautiful for fishing, boating and rainforest walking trails around the foreshores. Another interesting tourist attraction is the Cathedral Fig, an amazing curtain fig tree. Stay in one of the camping grounds or caravan parks, otherwise Atherton has a number of hotels and motels.
