The small town of Larrimah was originally a staging camp for more than 3,000 servicemen during the Second World War. There is a memorabilia display at the old Police Station. The town is halfway between Darwin and Tennant Creek and is a convenient stopping place. A General Store and two service stations provide supplies and fuel. Don't miss Fran's Teahouse.
Larrimah Museum has local history displays from World War II, the railway days and PMG history. Gorrie Airstrip is located 10 km north of the town and is of interest because it is a dirt airstrip. Enjoy a drink and a meal at the Larrimah Hotel. Accommodation is offered at the hotel as well as at Green Park Tourist Complex, Larrimah Top O'Town Van Park and Larrimah Wayside Inn Caravan Park.

Larrimah is situated on the Stuart Highway 534 km south of Darwin and 136 km north of Daly Waters.
