KAKADU NP
Simply stunning scenery, flora and fauna!

Kakadu National Park is best visited in the dry season from May to August. You can book a tour in the city of Darwin or from the popular tourist destination Katherine or just take your own four wheel drive vehicle. Its attractions include aboriginal cave paintings, prolific bird life, waterfalls, crocodiles and spectacular scenery making it a very popular place for landscape photography. Mamakala Observation Point and Nature Walk is a great place from which to view many species of water birds and the silver barramundi in the lake. Ubirr is an excellent site for viewing aboriginal rock art and rangers give daily talks on the significance of the art.

The area around Nourlangie Rock has some walking tracks to lookouts and to Anbangbang rock art Gallery. The Yellow Waters area is lovely for boat trips, river walks and observation of birds, buffalos and crocodiles. Both freshwater and saltwater crocodiles can be seen in the waterways of the Park and visitors are warned to be alert for them. Helicopter scenic flights are a great way to get an overview of this magnificent area. There are a number of camping areas within the park or you can stay in a motel, wilderness lodge, resort, hotel or caravan park.
