Yamba

For a quiet, relaxing holiday at the beach, come to Yamba, on the southern side of the Clarence River. It is a very popular spot with fishing fanatics, as you can fish from the river, the beach or from a boat. Visit Yamba Marina for boat hiring, river cruises and jet boat rides. For beautiful white sandy beaches, try Turners Beach, Main Beach, Convent Beach or Pippies Beach. To the south is a good surfing beach at Angourie. Take a drive to Bundjalong National Park or Yuraygir National Park and walk the walking trails.

Yamba's Story House Museum has displays of the early history of the area. Yamba Lighthouse on South Head is a great spot for whale watching in the winter months. On the northern side of the river mouth is Iluka, another quiet fishing village. The Iluka Nature Reserve has a 2.5 km walking track through the rainforest. Yamba has good caravan parks, holiday apartments and motels.
