The industrial city of Wollongong is the third-largest city in NSW. It is situated on Wollongong Harbour, with beautiful beaches to the south and north. There are many ideal fishing spots including Belmore Basin. Visit the Botanic Gardens and stroll through exotic, subtropical and Illawarra rainforest and Eucalypt forest. Industry World displays the history of the region's steel industry, and be sure to see the City Art Gallery, the Illawarra Motoring Museum and the beautiful Nan Tien Buddhist Temple. There is a Science Centre at Fairy Meadow, which has numerous hands-on interactive displays.

Discover the local lookouts at Bulli Pass and Bald Hill for superb views of the city and surrounding area. Mt Keira and Mt Kembla have several walking trails through the rainforest. There is a good choice of shops, restaurants and cafes in the city and along the waterfront, and plenty of clubs and pubs.
