SNOWY MOUNTAINS
The highest point on Australia's mainland...

In winter the Snowy Mountains are famous for the ski slopes at Thredbo, Perisher Blue Cow, Smiggin Holes, Guthega and Mt Selwyn. Both downhill and cross country skiing are catered for, as well as snowboarding. Lessons are available for beginners and advanced skiiers. In summer the mountains are transformed into a totally different holiday experience. When the slopes are carpeted with wildflowers, you can go hiking, cycling or horse riding, enjoying the crisp mountain air. Book a trout fishing tour to find out how to catch them in the streams and lakes.

The more adventurous can try white water rafting on the Upper Murray or you might like to do some canoeing or sailing on Lake Jindabyne or Lake Eucumbene. Pay a visit to the Snowy Hydro power station, Tumut 3, where you will be given a guided tour and an explanation of the Scheme. There are many tours on offer for tourists such as walking holidays, horseback or fishing adventures or cave tours. Book your accommodation in a romantic mountain chalet, a country farmstay, ski lodge, motel, backpackers or caravan park.

Location
The Snowy Mountains are situated within Kosciuszko National Park.
