PORT STEPHENS
A beautiful unspoilt beachside destination...

Port Stephens is a large natural harbour with a number of small coastal villages dotted around its edges including Anna Bay, Nelson Bay and Soldiers Point. For white sandy beaches and good surf go to Shoal Bay or Stockton Beach. Take a cruise out on the bay to see the bottlenose dolphins or whales in season. There is a local nudist beach for those who dare. You can go sand tobogganing or ride a dune bike on Stockton Beach. Explore Cabbage Tree Island for the wildlife and Broughton island for diving. Tomaree National Park is interesting for wildflowers and birdlife.

Lemon Tree Passage is a great area for koala spotting. Oakvale Farm and Fauna World at Salt Ash has an animal nursery, aviaries, a farm museum, native fauna and farm animals. Sample the local seafood and visit the galleries and arts and craft shops. Salamander Bay has a large shopping complex and other shopping areas are at Nelson Bay, Raymond Terrace and Tanilda Bay. Motels, hotels, apartments, bed and breakfasts, farmstays, villas and campsites are some of the accommodation choices available.
