Brunswick Heads is a quiet destination for a family fishing holiday. The town is home to a large commercial fishing fleet and is also popular with amateur anglers. Boats and fishing gear can be hired, as well as canoes, surf skis, and surf bikes to explore the estuary and river. Surfers and swimmers will enjoy the patrolled surf beaches at Brunswick Heads and Ocean Shores to the north. The Brunswick Heads Nature Reserve is a lovely spot for a picnic and a bush walk.
The markets are held on the 1st Saturday of the month and specialise in arts and crafts. The great Sunday tradition is to visit the Brunswick Pub for lunch and an afternoon of relaxing and listening to the live music. Come to Brunswick Heads for the Fish & Chips Festival in January or the Kites & Bikes Festival in March. Book well ahead for a spot in one of the riverside caravan parks or stay in a holiday apartment or motel.
