Bathurst is the home of the world famous Mt Panorama Motor Racing Circuit. The scenic road is open to the public all year round except for motor racing events. Motor sport fans should not miss the Mount Panorama Motor Racing Hall of Fame to see some race-winning cars, videos and memorabilia. The town has a population of approx 26000. It is Australia's oldest inland city and was the scene of the first gold rush. Take a look around the town's historic buildings including the Royal Hotel, the Methodist Complex, the Catholic Cathedral, the Railway Station and the Flour Mill. Ben Chifley's house is in Bathurst and is open Sat. to Mon.

Bathurst Goldfields is a reconstruction of a gold mining village. Book a tour of the facilities and gold panning lessons will be included. Children love the Bathurst Sheep & Cattle Drome, where live animals perform on stage. Vintage Joy Flights in a Tiger Moth are available from Bathurst Airport. Other local attractions include Ohkuma Japanese Garden, Old Government Cottage, Abercrombie House, Australian Fossil & Mineral Musuem, Bathurst & District Historical Museum and the Bathurst Regional Art Gallery.
