Visit Ballina for beautiful beaches and picturesque headlands. It is a great destination for family holidays and surfers love the ideal surfing conditions. You can't miss The Big Prawn tourist attraction, or you might like to visit the Maritime Museum, Fenwick House, Rotary Lookout, Ballina Lighthouse or Thursday Plantation, which focuses on tea tree products. From June to October humpback whales can be seen from the lighthouse or Skennars Head as they migrate up the coast . The town centre has a great variety of restaurants, pubs, cafes and boutiques to suit all tastes. There are also a number of local galleries to visit. Nearby towns to explore are Alstonville and Lennox Head, where Lake Ainsworth is situated. Ballina offers a full range of accommodation types, from luxury apartments to camping and everything in between.
