Albury is the main urban centre of the Albury-Wodonga region. It is famous for the paddle-steamers which slowly make their way along the Murray River. Canoeing, swimming and fishing are also popular river activities. Tourist attractions in the region include the Ettamogah Wildlife Sanctury, Jindera Pioneer Museum, Harveys Fish and Fun Park, Aboriginal River Walk, Bullers Winery and Bird Park at Rutherglen, Albury Botanical Gardens and Albury Regional Museum.

Take a scenic joyflight over the area or contact the local Gliding Club. There are several walking tracks for bushwalkers to explore. The Mount Pilot Tourist Farm provides escorted trail rides through the natural Australian bush. There are many wineries to visit in the surrounding area. Backpacker and hostel accommodation is available, as well as camping grounds, caravan parks, farm stays, serviced apartments, motels, hotels and resorts.
