OVERVIEW:
Often geared specifically towards backpackers, lots of these positions have high turnovers and many companies use almost entirely travellers as their workforce. In urban areas, especially Sydney and Melboune, there are plenty of opportunities for happy, fun and attractive backpackers to find lots of work, and experience isn't usually necessary.

Your English must be excellent, while doing sales and marketing work or working as a representative, spokespersons or promotions model you'll be liasing with customers and answering queries. You also need to have an outgoing, confident and resilient personality and enjoy teamwork.

TASKS:
You might be selling products or advertising space, etc over the telephone, in the street or door to door. If you're working outside, it can be long hours in hot weather. You'll also have to answer customer's questions, so you'll need to learn all about your product in training sessions, which are often unpaid. You may simply just have to stand there and smile in a uniform anf hang our leaflets.

LOCATION:
Sales, marketing & promotion work is mostly available in large urban areas, especially Sydney and Melbourne. Some companies will also offer opportunities to work in other areas, in which case they'll put you up in a hotel for a week or two.

DURATION:
Commonly jobs are short term, a few days, or a week, but if you are good at your work you will be assigned to various sales & marketing jobs regularly. For call centres and telemarketing work you can get longer more full time placements.

JOB PAYMENT:
- AU$ 12- 45 for hourly roles but most sales jobs work on commission and bonuses - the more you sell, the more cash you make. If you are really good, you can make big bucks, between $800 and $1000 per week!
